BEIJING - The All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) announced Tuesday that it has donated 3 million yuan ($473,186) to quake-hit Yunnan and Guizhou provinces in southwest China for workers' life assistance.
The ACFTU ordered local trade unions to offer their condolences to workers affected by the quakes, as well as help them to move on with their lives and resume production following the disasters.
Multiple earthquakes hit a mountainous area in Yunnan on Sept 7, leaving 81 people dead and 821 injured. Neighboring Guizhou province was also affected by the quakes.
The Chinese central government has allocated 750 million yuan for quake relief and reconstruction efforts in Yunnan, the Ministry of Civil Affairs announced earlier on Tuesday.
