Former Chongqing security official arrested

The former deputy director of the Chongqing Public Security Bureau was arrested by the city’s prosecuting authority on Aug 13, Chinese media reported on Sept 4.
Tang Jianhua was taken by an investigation team on June 27, said the report on caijing.com.cn, a website belonging to Caijing Magazine.
Meanwhile, Tang’s wife, surnamed Huang, was also detained by police in Yubei district on Aug 22. She is now under custody, the report said.
Tang had been highly praised for his role in the crackdown on organized crime.
In March 2010, Tang was appointed deputy director of the city’s public security bureau. Before that, he was director of a sub-bureau.
