TOKYO - Japan Coast Guard released a video taken on August 15 of 7 Chinese activists landing on Diaoyu Islands at Monday night.

Japan Coast Guard recorded 7 hours video from helicopters and patrol vessels of the process of 7 Chinese activists landing on Diaoyu Islands.

Japan Coast Guard published an edited 30-mintue-edition video, showing the police warning the activists not to land on the islands and urging them to leave.

Japanese Prime Minster Yoshihiko Noda said on a press conference last Friday that the Japan Coast Guard would release the videos, as long as it does not interfere with policing.

A total of 14 Chinese nationals were illegally detained by Japan after landing on the Diaoyu Islands on August 15 to claim China's sovereignty over the territory.

Seven of the 14 who were released flew back to Hong Kong on August 17, while the other group of seven returned home in their fishing boat from Japan's Ishigaki Island with escort of a vessel sent by the Chinese government.

As Japan decided to release 14 Chinese nationals it was detaining, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said,"China holds a clear and firm stance on the issue of Diaoyu Islands."
