HOHHOT - A transport company in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has published the names of 20 victims in Sunday's sleeper-tanker crash that killed 36 in Shaanxi province.
The list of names, published by Hohhot Municipal Transport Group, the owner of the bus, indicates that 12 victims were from the provinces of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Henan, as well as Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The company has asked the relatives of the passengers on the ill-fated bus to immediately contact the working group which deals with the aftermath of the accident.
The double-decker sleeper bus burst into flames after rear-ending a methanol-loaded tanker in the city of Yan'an, northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Sunday morning. Three of the 39 people aboard the bus survived but all suffered injuries.
The crash occurred around 2:18 am Sunday on the section of the Baotou-Maoming expressway, about 200 meters from the Huaziping service station. The 39-seat bus was on its way from Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia, to Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province.
The State Council has sent an investigation team to oversee the investigation and rescue efforts.
