Due to a series of quality scandals, Coca-Cola is losing the trust of Chinese consumers. In a recent survey, it ranked at the bottom of soft drink brand satisfaction, China National Radio reported on Monday.
Coca-Cola got the lowest score among 12 brands of soft drinks sold in China in the survey led by the China Association for Quality, a non-profit consumer organization, while in 2010 it was sixth on the same list.
On the top of the list are domestic brands Wahaha and Jiaduobao, which mainly produce purified water and herbal tea.
The survey shows that Chinese consumers are paying more attention to product quality.
In April, Coca-Cola's products were found to be contaminated by chlorine in its Shanxi bottling plant.
Earlier in March, it was also reported that the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a US consumer group, had accused Coca-Cola of using "unsafe" levels of a carcinogenic chemical to make the caramel coloring in its soft drinks.
