Chinese VP greets experts, grassroots talents

BEIDAIHE - Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping on Sunday greeted a group of renowned experts and grassroots talents and encouraged them to contribute more to the country's development.
Those experts and talents were invited by the central authority to a routine high-profile holiday program in Beidaihe, a popular northern seaside resort close to the Chinese capital, as a form of recognition and reward for their works.
Since 2001, over 600 experts and their family members had been invited under the program to gesture country's resolution in talent cultivation.
Among the 62 invited this year, there are leading scientists in defense technology, renowned educators, artists, workers, village teachers, rural medical staff and astronauts.
A seminar was also held Sunday for the experts to give suggestions to the country's human resources programs.
