A prolific robber who stole 89 motorbikes in five months suffered bad luck in scooping his 89th. Surprisingly, his diary helps a lot, the Chengdu Business Daily reported Friday.
The thief surnamed Zhang was caught at the scene in Pengzhou, Sichuan province, when he boldly offered a tricycle driver five yuan to help him carry away a locked motor bike. This suspicious act caught the attention of a policeman nearby, the report said.
The paper said when the police searched Zhang's home they also found an unusual diary where he had recorded a history of all the 88 motorbikes he had stolen and the price he had sold them for.
Zhang was accused of theft and arrested, according to the paper.
