Beijing to raise funds for disaster relief

The city of Beijing, which has had its worst rain in the past six decades over the weekend, will soon launch a large fundraising campaign, encouraging citizens to donate for the disaster relief, according to a government meeting on Monday night.
The second consecutive evening meeting following the disaster, presided by Mayor Guo Jinlong and attended by many senior officials, emphasized efficient gathering and reporting of disaster relief news, calling the public to pitch in for disaster relief work and decided to launch a citywide fundraising campaign for the victims.
