High-cost imported Crape Myrtle trees die in E China

98 Crape Myrtle trees imported from Vietnam were found dead, due to various reasons such as an inappropriate transplanting season in Hefei, East China's Anhui province, on July 17, 2012. The local government of Shushan district imported 250 Crape Myrtle trees at cost of 400,000 yuan each last December. The 98 which have already died are the first group to be planted, with the heaviest weighing in at 28 tons and the tallest being 40 meters. [Photo/Asianewsphoto]
