The World Shipping (China) Summit 2012 will be held in the city of Xiamen from Sept 19 to 21, 2012. Centered on the theme Sharing an Orderly Market, this year's forum will focus on rebalancing the shipping market and look for new ways of cooperation among different parties in the industry.
Affected by the sluggish world economic recovery, surging oil prices and an oversupply of vessels in the shipping market, the world shipping industry suffered a painful year in 2011. Dismal market prospects were expected to continue in 2012 and long-term cyclical problems have further complicated the situation.
One of the most important summits for the world shipping industry, this forum has been jointly held by China Ocean Shipping (Group) Co, Drewry Shipping Consultants Ltd, the Journal of Commerce and many other key organizations in the industry for the last eight years in different cities across China.
