More than 20,000 text messages have been sent out to spread anti-drug information by border protection service in Chengmai county, South China's Hainan province, the Legal Daily reported Monday.

They sent the easy-to-read messages to local residents of Chengmai country - where drug users and smugglers are rampant - with the help of a mobile phone network which covered most people and spread information efficiently.

The anti-drug messages were sent to strengthen people's awareness of knowing, preventing and denying drugs.
