BEIJING - Beijing announced Tuesday night that one store in the city had sold 110 top prizes of "Dual-Colored Ball," signaling the country's biggest-ever individual lottery jackpot winner.
If the jackpot belongs to a single buyer, which has not yet been confirmed, the winner will reap a gigantic prize of 570 million yuan ($89.4 million), an official with the Beijing Welfare Lottery Center told Xinhua Wednesday.
A total of 117 stakes of the top prize emerged from Tuesday's raffle, while Beijing reported 111 stakes, each with a bonus of 5.18 million yuan, according to a statement issued by the center.
A retail outlet located in Sanlitun South Street, Chaoyang district, sold 110 stakes of the top prize and the other was bought in a store in Niushan township, Shunyi district, said the statement.
Details about the winners are not yet available.
The previous lottery record in the country was held by a player who gained a jackpot of 565 million yuan after winning 110 stakes of "Dual-Colored Ball" top prize in July 2011 in eastern Zhejiang province.
