Senior CPC official meets Sudanese delegation

BEIJING - A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday met with a delegation of Sudan's ruling National Congress Party (NCP) to discuss party-to-party ties.
Wang Gang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with the delegation headed by Ibrahim Ghandour, a senior official in charge of the NCP's external relations.
Wang hailed the "lasting and extensive" friendship between China and Sudan in recent decades, "which was created and cultivated through joint efforts by several generations of leaders of the two nations."
"China appreciates Sudan's consistent support for China in its core interests and major concerns," Wang said, adding that China backs Sudan's efforts to safeguard its sovereignty, promote national reconciliation and push ahead with economic and social development.
Wang and Ghandour both pledged to further boost exchanges and cooperation between the two ruling parties to promote the relationship between the two nations.
