Special roses are priced at about 10,000 yuan ($1,589) for one bunch of 52 in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, around Valentine's Day, chinanews.com reported on Tuesday.
Imported from South Korea, this kind of rose, called Golden Princess, is known for its color, which is processed by a special spray method. Despite the soaring price, the roses are in demand as customers want to express their hope for a stable relationship, which could be "harder than gold" to their beloved, China News reported.
The average price of roses in China is about 300 yuan ($48) for one bunch.
