BEIJING - German Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay an official visit to China from February 2 to 3, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said Thursday.
The visit is at the invitation of Premier Wen Jiabao, said Hong.
During Merkel's visit, Chinese and German leaders will exchange views on bilateral ties and how to enhance the strategic cooperation between China and Germany, Liu Weimin, another spokesman, said at a regular news briefing last Friday.
They will also talk about the world economic situation and Europe's economic and financial situation, said Liu.
