LANZHOU - A military medical team has been sent to mountainous villages in the Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Northwest China's Gansu province where Tibetan villagers and lamas face severe difficulties in their daily lives due to recent heavy snowfalls.
The medical team, from the No 7 Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), headed off, braving bad weather and poor road conditions, on learning of the villagers' plight, according to military sources.
The PLA detachment also took food and cooking oil to villagers and lamas, in addition to providing medical services.
