The central government approved railway courts to be removed from the Ministry of Railways, said Cao Jianming, chief of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, People’s Daily reported.
The railway courts used to report to the ministry on financial, personnel and duty issues, which put its credibility in question. The responsibilities of the national railway procuratorate office will be transferred to local authorities.
The move will be implemented by the end of June, officials said.
