A TV reporter was found dead with more than 10 stab wounds near the TV station where he worked, local police have confirmed, the Zhengzhou Evening News reported on Tuesday.
The reporter, Li Xiang, 30, was from the Luoyang TV station in Central China’s Henan province. Li was believed to have been stabbed near where he parked his car after having fun with friends at KTV on September 18, the paper said.
A nearby guard heard suspicious noises and hurried to the scene, finding Li lying on the ground with his computer bag gone, the report said.
The local police have declared it a case of murder as the result of robbery for the moment, but said they have not ruled out other possible motives.
One of Li’s friends told the paper he cannot believed what has happened, and said Li had been planning for his wedding in October.
The report said Li’s last Weibo post suggested he was investigating illegal cooking oil.
