A jilted boyfriend has been sentenced to two years in prison in Beijing for attempting to blackmail his ex-lover's father.
Li met his former girlfriend online and eventually moved in with her in January last year. Judges heard he often bought clothes and other things for the woman, as she was unemployed.
However, in May this year, she announced she wanted to break up, citing the fact that her father said Li could not earn much money and did not own a car or home.
Li, who claimed he gave the woman almost 100,000 yuan ($15,600) during their relationship, sought revenge by posting nude photos of her to her father and demanding 33,000 yuan in compensation.
The father reported the case to police and Li was detained. He was sentenced on Aug 29.
