BEIJING - Senior officials on Friday pledged to bolster cooperation with the World Bank to promote more sustainable and balanced world economic growth.

During his meeting with World Bank President Robert Zoellick, Vice-Premier Li Keqiang said China will better utilize the fund and talents of the World Bank and deepen its study of development.

Li hailed the cooperation between China and the World Bank over the last 30 years, saying the international community should join to cope with major challenges in the tumbling world financial market and economy.

Vice-Premier Wang Qishan also met with Zoellick Friday afternoon.

They exchanged views on the current world financial situation, Sino-US economic relations, European sovereign debt, as well as on the upcoming Group of 20 Leaders Summit in Cannes.
