Beijing most livable city on mainland

China's capital, Beijing is the 72nd most livable city in the world and has the best living conditions on the mainland, according to the latest Global Liveability Survey conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit, China News Service reports.
Shanghai, the eastern metropolis, is ranked 79 on the list and fourth among mainland cities after Suzhou in East China and Tianjin in North China at 73 and 74, respectively.
Globally, Melbourne has displaced Vancouver as best city in the world to live in. Vancouver has fallen to the third place in the rankings after Vienna in Austria.
The biannual survey ranked 140 cities globally on parameters like social stability, healthcare, culture, environment, education and infrastructure.
