New governor appointed for E China province

HANGZHOU - The local legislature in East China's Zhejiang province Tuesday appointed Xia Baolong as acting governor and vice-governor of the booming coastal province.
Xia, 59, has served as the deputy secretary of the Zhejiang provincial committee of the Communist Party of China since 2003.
The 27th session of the Standing Committee of the 11th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress also accepted the resignation of former governor Lu Zushan.
