A building under construction in Leizhou, Guangdong province, collapsed on August 29, 2011, killing two and wounding eight, Guangzhou Daily reported.
The building collapsed when workers cast the ceiling of the top floor with concrete, 12 meters above ground level. Ten workers fell to the ground and were buried by the concrete.
The local government said that improper installation of supportive pillars led to the building's collapse.
More than 100 people, including local officials and nearby residents, took part in the rescue effort.
On August 28, another building under construction collapsed, in Xinyi, Guangdong province. Six workers were killed and three wounded.
