A bomb hoax caused a flight on Air China airline to be delayed for more than an hour on Sunday, Chengdu Business Daily reported.
A man surnamed Wen was carrying his package onto a plane that was headed to northwest China's Urumqi from Chengdu, Sichuan province when he was asked what was in his box. "Bomb," he responded.
He was immediately taken away from the plane and forbidden to board again.
Hundreds of passengers had to return to the terminal as police checked the whole plane, which took about one and a half hours.
Wen was fined 400 yuan ($62) for causing the public disorder.
