China appoints new head of PLA military court

BEIJING - China's top legislature announced Sunday that it had appointed Liu Jixing as president of the Peoples' Liberation Army (PLA) military court during its bi-monthly session that concluded Friday.
Liu, who was the former vice president of the PLA military court, replaced Su Yong for the top job.
The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress also during its session approved the removal of Xiong Xuanguo from his office as vice president of the Supreme People's Court, and from his duty as a member of the judging committee and as a judge.
Liu Yousheng, Wang Qingxin, Guo Sufen and Chen Dong were removed from duty as procurators of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, according to the top legislature.
