WENZHOU - Fifteen families of the victims of a deadly high-speed train crash in east China's Zhejiang Province have agreed to accept government compensation as of late Saturday, authorities said.

Families who agreed will receive about 915,000 yuan (about $143,000) for each victim. The payment was almost doubled from the original offer of 500,000 yuan.

Forty people were killed and another over 190 were injured a week ago when a bullet train rammed into another that had stalled after being hit by lightning.
