The average traffic congestion time in Beijing is one hour and five minutes shorter than last year, China National Radio reported Wednesday.

The length of congested road has dropped 33 percent to 115 kilometers since the capital launched a series of traffic-control measures at the end of last year, the report said, citing Liu Xiaoming, the director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport.

The traffic jam time in Beijing has dropped one hour and five minutes, 50 percent less than last year, the report said.

Beijing will continue with effective traffic planning such as fast-tracking the construction of transportation infrastructure, providing more parking facilities and improving public transport services, the report said.
