Dead fish offshore from Changdao county in Shandong province has no relation to the oil leak of Penglai 19-3 oilfield in Bohai Bay, despite its close proximity to the site, according to the latest test results released by the State Oceanic Administration and the Ministry of Agriculture, the Beijing Times reported on Monday.

Meanwhile, test results of water and fish from Changdao county released by the Ministry of Agriculture indicated that the oil content of the water in the fish farming areas of Changdao’s Daqing and Tuoji Islands did not exceed the standard limit.
In addition, after preliminary analysis, the experts thought the death of the fish in the farming areas around Daqing Island was caused by a bacterial infection, but the exact cause could not be known until further analysis. Fish stocks around Tuoji Island are unaffected.
