Pole dancing is not just for women

A Tao, a 23-year-old Qingdao native, shows off his pole dancing skills in Qingdao, East China’s Shandong province on July 7, 2011. Male pole dancers can make at least 10,000 yuan ($1,487) a month working at nightclubs. Some can even make 40,000 to 50,000 yuan each month. A Tao has been dancing around the pole for six years. He left home to train in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. Five yeas later, he came back and started performing in different clubs in Qingdao. He said sometimes people make fun of a male pole dancer, but he still loves the dance, which changed his life. “I don’t think only women can perform pole dancing. I want to show that men can do it in a more powerful and masculine way,” he said. [Photo/CFP]
