The price hike involved ten to twenty products of each brand and some star products.

At the beginning of this year, cosmetic brands, including Christian Dior, Lancome, Biotherm and Chanel, increased their prices by five percent to ten percent.

Liu Wei, the director of Public Affairs and Communications with Estee Lauder (Shanghai) Company, said earlier that the price hike was a result of integrated factors, including rising raw material and labor costs and the market's overall performance.
