Single and poor mothers will soon benefit from better housing after the Women's Federation in South China's Guangdong province plans to raise 5 million yuan ($77,000) this year to help their plight.
The province launched a program to renovate 540,000 family homes in rural areas who are suffering financial difficulties and need priority assistance.
The organization has already raised two million yuan and expects to accomplish the target in June.
