Murdoch's $29m investment in Xunlei may pay off

Chinese company Xunlei Limited may benefit Rupert Murdoch's family fund, RW Investments LLC.

Nanfang Metropolitan Daily reported that Murdoch said Wednesday his family fund made a $29.4 million third-round investment in Xunlei in April. Xunlei, a Chinese online content distributor, filed its initial public offering documents to Nasdaq on June 9, expecting to raise up to $200 million. RW Investment LLC was not listed among its major restricted shareholders at the time.

Murdoch and his company have faith Xunlei will successfully offer entertainment while respecting copyrights, the report said citing Murdoch.

Xunlei had no comment on the investment.
