Supplies of coal, electricity, crude oil and natural gas will not be abundant this year in China, and the country will address the need to boost domestic energy supplies through economic adjustments, the China Securities Journal reported Tuesday.

Although with double-digit growth in the first quarter, coal, electricity and crude oil are in short supply in some regions, and future supplies are still a concern, Liu said at the National Conference on Economic Operation held recently in Haikou, the capital of southern Hainan province.
The country will strive to ensure the supplies of coal, electricity, crude, and natural gas. The government will rein in total energy consumption by restraining irrational demands, while accelerating energy-saving, pollution reducing and economy restructuring efforts, so that the market, economy and society will maintain stability, the newspaper reported.
