The capital's lovelorn students are set to get a helping hand after it was reported a course in the art of love could be included in the college curriculum in Beijing.
The city's education bureau has rafted an outline plan concentrating on college students' mental health, in hope of teaching them "how to love oneself, express love, refuse love, maintain love and are to love," reported the Beijing Evening News Sunday.
Homosexuality, a usually taboo topic in China, could also be addressed in the coming course, says the newspaper.
The scheme has generated a lot of interest among the public, but many doubt the effect it will have. "Love cannot be taught. It calls for one's first-hand experience," a student in Beijing Normal University said, adding that she expects little from the course.
