FM meets Malaysian counterpart on cooperation

BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and his Malaysian counterpart Anifah Aman agreed on Monday that the two countries should continue to promote their strategic cooperation.
In the meeting with Anifah Aman, who is on an official visit to China, Yang said the strategic cooperation between the two countries has been developing smoothly with frequent top-level visits and deepening political mutual trust.
Yang said the two countries should keep up the growing momentum in trade and investment and further promote the mutually beneficial cooperation.
Yang added that China is ready to join hands with Malaysia to make new contributions to promoting stability and prosperity in the region.
Anifah said Malaysia views China as a close partner, adding that his country is willing to strengthen political, economic and cultural ties with China in order to further promote the strategic cooperation.
The two sides also exchanged opinions on East Asia cooperation and other international and regional issues of common concern.
