Wu Sike said China is deeply concerned with the impact of the current regional developments on the Middle East peace process, and that the international community should not overlook the peace process including the issue of Syria's Golan Heights due to the new changes.

For his part, al-Moallem expressed Syria's appreciation of China's long-time support for Syria and other Arab countries in regaining their legitimate rights.

He also expressed Syria's willingness to achieve peace through negotiations, saying if Israel returns the Golan Heights it seized in 1976, Syria is willing to talk with Israel on other issues.
