A helicopter landed at Dezhou University, Shandong province to pick up a female student on March 19, 2011, with a video of the event stirring an online sensation and worries about the low-altitude flight.

The company that owns the helicopter has neither registered with supervisory body - Shandong bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China nor filed any application for the flight, meaning the surprising landing at the university unauthorized, Xinhua reported.

Dezhou University said that the pilot was the student's father and he was picking up his daughter after he finished some pesticide spraying work.

Wang Zhongwu, a professor at the School of Philosophy and Social Development, Shandong University, said that using a private helicopter is rare in China and the public has a right to know the details of this event, for safety reasons.
