12 dead after road accident in N China

TAIYUAN - A truck-bus collision killed 12 people on Wednesday in North China's Shanxi province, local authorities said.

The accident occurred around 5 am in Yaodu District of Linfen city. Twenty-seven people were aboard the bus while three people were in the truck at the time of the accident.

Nine people died at the scene, and three died later in hospital. Sixteen others were injured.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
