New car rules for officials

Officials whose rank is lower than minister or governor will not be given special cars, according to new rules to be issued to public departments, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) said.
Li Hong, who is also the former deputy secretary of State Organs Work Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), added that if officials go to work in other departments, he or she will not be equipped with a new car, but should use their existing car.
