Eat, pray, test: Monk college
A student chants Yogacarabhumi at the world's largest Buddhism college in Tongbai county in Nanyang, Central China's Henan province, Feb 25, 2011. To chant classic scriptures fluently is part of the basic skills and candidates are required to sit tests. The college was built from 2005 and started to enroll new students in 2009. Since then, it has seen 300 applicants including monks, college students and so on, but only 25 attended its first entrance examination held between Feb 25 and 27, 2011. The college will offer various subjects like Buddhism, Buddhist music, sculpture, and foreign languages to the students which will earn them a college diploma after four years' study. [Photo/CFP]
