China awards its soldiers a pay raise

Soldiers serving in China's army have been given a pay rise, the third since July 2006, with increases ranging from 5 to 40 percent, according to the Chongqing Morning Post.

The first salary rise was a 100 percent increase in July 2006. The second pay rise came in July 2008.
