Chinese in Libya evacuated through Tunisian border

TUNIS - China has started to evacuate its nationals working in Libya through the Tunisian border, Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia Huo Zhengde told Xinhua on Wednesday.

An emergency team from the Chinese Embassy in Tunis left the capital city early on Wednesday and headed for the crossing point Ras El Jdir to evacuate Chinese nationals from Libya, and a fleet of 30 buses has been made available, Huo said.

The Chinese nationals evacuated from Libya are expected to be transferred by bus to the island of Djerba, 80 km from the Libyan border, where they will leave for China by chartered plane.
