5 killed in road accident in South China

GUANGZHOU - Five people were killed and one injured in a road accident in South China's Guangdong province, local police said on Sunday.

The accident took place at midnight Saturday at the k46 section of the freeway linking Foshan and Guangzhou, the provincial capital of Guangdong, when a sedan heading to Guangzhou knocked down rail fence and bumped into an oncoming bus, according to the police.

Three men and two women aboard the sedan were killed instantly while a four-year-old girl on the same vehicle survived.

The girl was hospitalized in a Foshan hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
