Chinese carmaker to promote green transport in Philippines
SHENZHEN - China's leading new-energy carmaker BYD said Wednesday that it planned to introduce a series of electric buses and trucks to the Philippines.
The Shenzhen-based company and Philippine Columbian Motors Corporation (CMC) have reached a cooperation agreement on green transport.
BYD will initially produce 10 electric buses and 14 electric trucks by next February. The CMC will be in charge of sales in the Philippines.
In August, BYD announced plans to build a 20-km monorail in the Philippines' city of Iloilo by 2019.
BYD is working with local universities to train professionals and promote new energy transportation.
