China imposes anti-dumping duties on POM copolymer

Xinhua | Updated: 2017-10-25 17:26

BEIJING - China Wednesday announced a final ruling on imposing anti-dumping duties on polyformaldehyde (POM) copolymer imported from the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Malaysia.

The Ministry of Commerce ruled that the three countries had dumped the product into China, causing substantial damage to the domestic industry, according to a statement on its website.

Starting Tuesday, Chinese importers of the product will be required to pay anti-dumping duties based on dumping margins of between 6.2 percent and 34.9 percent over the next five years, the ministry said.

POM copolymer is a thermoplastic resin frequently used to replace metals in manufacturing.
