Top 10 best global brands in 2017
For the second year running, Chinese brands Huawei and Lenovo were ranked among the best global brands this year, taking 70th and 100th spots respectively, said Interbrand, a US-based consultancy company.
According to Interbrand, the brand value of Huawei increased by 14 percent to $6.68 billion from last year, but, Lenovo's brand value fell by 1 percent to $4 billion.
This year, the 100 brands' total value reached $1.87 trillion, a 4.2 percent increase, compared to last year.
Facebook's brand value surged the most among the 100 brands. Its brand value rose by 48 percent to $48.19 billion from last year.
Hewlett Packard's value dropped the most among the 100 brands. Its brand value fell by 19 percent to $8.95 billion from last year.
The new comers in the list are Netflix, Saleforce.com, and Ferrari.
Among the top 10 best global brands, three brands' value dropped compared to last year. They are Coca-Cola, Toyota and IBM, declining 5 percent, 6 percent and 11 percent, respectively.
Apple remained at the top, with its brand value at 184.15 billion.
