Beijing's overall level of information technology and industrialization integration will reach 70 points in 2020 from 61.4 in 2016, according to Ren Shiqiang, news spokesman for the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology (BJEIT).

The measurement is an indicator of a city's information development. By the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20), the working pattern of improving traditional industry by informationized transformation, technology and management innovation will be built, Ren said.

The development level of the city's integration in key enterprises - 65 percent of the digitized production plants, 60 percent of these plants connected to network and 75 percent of the applications based on cloud platforms - will be significantly improved.

Beijing plans to deploy and implement the project of "Three Actions" --production mode transformation action, service model innovation action and basic capacity promotion action.

In the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, new materials and 3-D printing, more effort will be put into establishing a talent-introduction strategy, including introducing hundreds of world-renowned top scientists, thousands of leading talents with key technology in integrative development and tens of thousands of outstanding young professionals with high potential.

"According to the 2017 quantitative comparison statistics of the informatization-industrialization integration, Beijing has a high rating in the country; however, there is still room for improvement," said Jiang Guangzhi, associate counsel of BJEIT.

The news conference about the project aiming to further promote Beijing's integration of informatization and industrialization was jointly held by the News Office of Beijing Municipality Government and BJEIT on Thursday.
