The Belt and Road Initiative is welcomed by nearly everyone now, especially by Southeast Asia countries, said Cheah.
He said the initiative has definitely gained prominence in the year 2017.
Cheah, who was born in Penang, Malaysia, is also known as "Goldfinger" and "the Warren Buffett of Asia".
