HARBIN - The China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) launched an online tourist guide platform on Wednesday.
Tourists can use the platform to go online to check information and either click to praise or complain about specific tourist guides, said the CNTA at a meeting in China's northeastern city of Harbin.
More and more information on travel agencies, restaurants and scenic spots will be shared on the platform in the future, it said.
Tourism has become a strong engine for economic growth. The sector contributed 10.8 percent to GDP in 2015 and created 10.2 percent of new jobs, according to official data.
In the first half of this year, China's tourism industry raked in 2.25 trillion yuan ($346 billion) in revenue, up 12.4 percent year on year.
