Master gives new life to cameras in his 'hospital’

Zhan Chunming has run a camera repair shop with his apprentice in Beijing for 25 years.
The repair veteran calls his shop a "hospital" where he treats all kinds of cameras ranging from auto focus camera to single lens reflex (SLRs).
Zhan said his interest in cameras began in childhood and he would stay up late learning the internal structure of various cameras.
Leaving his hometown in Putian city, Fujian province, 25 years ago, Zhan came to Beijing and started a business. Now his repair shop stands on the Wukesong Road, Haidian district, taking up more than 50 square meters.
Zhan said he hires laid-off workers as apprentices, helping them master the skills.
